SEIU 888 has direct access to the State House for the first time in over a decade. President McKeever and his team have regular communication and meetings with Governor Healey, Lieutenant Governor Driscoll, and State Auditor Diana DiZoglio about our member’s specific needs. We have worked with these leaders on the crisis in Brockton Public Schools

the terrible working conditions at the Worcester Housing Authority, as well as numerous pieces of legislation that include:

• The Covid-19 3 Year Retirement Incentive
• The Workplace Psychological Safety Act
• The 911 Retirement Legislation and Soldiers Home Retirement Bill
• Online Gaming for the Lottery

Additionally, the working relationship between Local 888 and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu and the Boston City Council has been instrumental in helping us achieve salary increases and safer working conditions, and mental health resources for the workers we represent.

Local 888 is being heard by our Senators and Congresspeople, too! President McKeever and his team have partnered with Senator Warren and Senator Markey on federal legislation affecting 888 members.

To spread the word of the good work we are doing in Local 888, we launched our political podcast on YouTube. Guests have included State Auditor Diana Dizoglio, authors of the Workplace Psychological Safety Act, and Boston City Council President Ruthzee Louijeune.
