Joe Vietro, President of the Everett School Custodians, sits on the Everett Public Employee Committee, which signed an agreement with the City of Everett regarding health insurance benefits effective July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2015. The agreement provides for the continuation of the City’s contribution of 85% of the premium costs for employees and non-Medicare eligible retirees and establishes an “Employee Health Care Mitigation Fund” of $650,000 over the life of the agreement.
A Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) will be available for all plan subscribers and reimburses fifty (50) percent of out-of-pocket costs for outpatient surgery copayments, inpatient hospital admission copayments, and high tech imaging copayments up to a limit per occurrence. The City also agreed to hold a health fair and several informational meetings for employees. Thank you to Joe for his commitment to this process.
