Congratulations to the Malden Cafeteria Workers who ratified a three year collective bargaining agreement for September 1, 2010 – August 31, 2013 with a vote of 29-0 on April 11. Their new contract provides for raises retroactive to September 2010 with 1% mid-year and 1% on the last day of school for 2011-2012 and 2% mid-year, 1% last day of school for 2012-2013.  The agreement also incorporates the cafeteria utility workers into the bargaining unit.   Chapter President Diane MacEachern proved to be a well-prepared and determined leader throughout the negotiations.  The other dedicated team members were: Carolyn Bencic, Debbie Arbing, Jenesta Smallman, and Jeff Caroll for the utility workers.
