Congratulations to the Negotiating Team at “DY” for an excellent job of “sweeping” language! At first, adding Course Reimbursement language for unit members, Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRA) of $400 for individual plans and $1000 for Family plans per year, including reimbursable co-pays and visits deemed necessary, like physical therapy and chiropractic, as well as implementing flexible spending accounts was just part of the successful negotiations. Second was Cook/Manager positions now being paid equally at elementary, middle and high school levels and the mechanic helpers who have plumbing or electrical licenses were re-graded! And the grand slam play was when the team negotiated 4.5% over 3 years, 1.5% each year. Cathy Ruffino, Laurel Visceglio and Carolyn Watts were at bat for the Cafeteria members and Russ Meally, Dennis Walsh and Tom James hit it out of the park for the Maintenance/Grounds members! Great “game” by all!
